Istg this is going to take forever.... Who is Mayoi Ayase? Mayoi is an idol apart of the Alkaloid unit under StarPro from the game Ensemble Stars! They're between the age of 17-18 and is a 3rd year student (now a graduate) of Yumenosaki Academy. Seen as an underacheiving idol for their severe social anxiey, Mayoi was grouped with 3 other "underachieveing" idols as their final chance at being idols.

Mayoi is quite dear to me and also a reminder of my shortcommings. Mayoi is one of the very few characters that I feel like I personally like without just defaulting to the charcater that looks the most visually appealing to me (purple/dark themed characters). To be honest, Mayoi was one of the characters that I did just default to liking but as I was being a fake fan, I also wanted to learn more about them for myself because I *wanted* to like be a Mayoi fan.

    I have a few headcanons about Mayoi that is honestly me self projecting but this is my mad house. No one can come to my home to argue with me loll.

  • Nonbinary hoe. As anyone who's seen the enstars fandom for more than 10mins, you'd easily find that most (if not all) characters are refered to as she/her aka women by the fandom. Why? I don't know and I'm not really bothered to finding out why. Mayoi has always been referred to as she/her from what I've seen from the internet but I feel like Mayoi is more of an enby because I feel like it would translate well to them being "weird" as in they feel like they just exist as a creature of the night than anything within the binary also, I feel this way about my gender since I've thought about how I'm no boy nor girl.

  • I imagine their actual pronouns are They/them but also goes by any or mirrors just to make others comfortable/it's what they're used or just too scared to actually correct them while also thinking it's not actually such a big deal if someone gets their pronouns wrong.

  • Something silly that I headcanon is that Mayoi is like besties with Rei Sakuma just because that bitch WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!! Like, Rei is just chasing me but not in cards but TRIVIA. We have way too many similarities from the surface it's crazy anyway, I know that Mayoi is somehow afraid of the Sakumas and I'm just going to play it like those friendships that started off with them hating eachother at first but just as one sided fear. My support to this headcanon so that I don't feel like I'm doing something problematic is that La Mort exists and that some people ship Mayoi and Rei together.
